Business Computing – A Blend of Business and IT Skills

Business computing is the application of various technologies to meet the needs of business information. It is a mix of the fields of computer science. It may also comprise some aspects of advanced computing. Graduates are prepared for careers in the business world, working on technical or computing-related issues or in the IT field.

The course is deeply rooted in the workplace, with guest lecturers from industry and engineering partners sharing their insights into the real-world business challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on real-world scenarios which will help you apply your technological abilities to real-world problems. You will learn a broad range of business and IT abilities over the course of four years starting from the development of software applications and learning to analyse data with the aim of offering innovative solutions to businesses.

In the beginning of your studies, you will study subjects like marketing and accounting. You will also gain practical experience with the most recent technology in computing and IT. You’ll build your IT and business knowledge to prepare for a placement year. It could be on campus or in one of our many partner companies throughout Kent and London. When you graduate, you’ll possess an unusual mix of IT and business knowledge which can lead to a variety of careers, including web development, software development helpdesk support and data analytics. Former graduates have worked for companies such as Accenture, BP FDM and Spotify.
